With tomorrow being finals day at the AEGON Championships, this week’s classic comes in the form of an unforgettable final at Queen’s.
Cast your minds back to 2008, when the tournament was branded red instead of the current blue of AEGON, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic met in a fantastic final. It may not have been a Grand Slam final or even a Masters final but it had all the elements of a top match. It was won in straight sets, don’t read too much into that as this is a real classic.
Rafa prevailed to win 7-6 7-5, perhaps the starting point of what was to come of two magnificent players involved in some more amazing matches.
