Novak Djokovic has reached the China Open final after not much of a challenge – beating Berrer, Berlocq, Melzer and Mayer, most of these in straight sets. In the latter of these, against Florian Mayer, this is how it happened:
In the first set, the Serb completely dominated and quickly won it 6-1. However, the second set was not such easy going, and Mayer lead for a while but, having served seven aces during the course of the match, the ‘Djoker’ was able to recover and win the match 6-1, 6-4 in exactly one hour.
What next? In the final he faces Jo-Wilfred Tsonga who was beating Feliciano Lopez 6-1, 4-1 before Lopez understandably retired.
